Riot, Regulate or Reverse? Responding to the Rise of the Sharing Economy

21 September 2015. NOTE VENUE HAS CHANGED FOR THIS EVENT. EVENT WILL NOW BE HELD AT THE JUBILEE ROOM AT NSW PARLIAMENT HOUSE (NOT AT TOWN HALL).

Companies like Uber and Airbnb are rapidly expanding their reach. Taxi drivers are taking to the street in protest. So far all the NSW Government has done is launch an inquiry.

How should Labor respond to this legal and regulatory challenge?

Join the NSW Society of Labor Lawyers on Tuesday 22 September for a public forum considering this question.

With panellists:

  • Andrew Leigh, Federal Member for Fraser, Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Competition
  • Michael Aird, NSW Transport Worker’s Union Secretary
  • Daniel Mookhey, NSW Labor MLC
