The Australian Law Reform Commission and NSW Law Reform Commission recently released two reports which the Society provided contributions to:
- NSWLRC Open Justice - Court and tribunal information: access, disclosure and publication (Report 149) - access here;
- ALRC Final Report - Without Fear or Favour: Judicial Impartiality and the Law on Bias (Report 138) - access here.
The Society's submissions traversed a broad range of issues including the introduction of a federal judicial commission, improving diversity on the bench, pecuniary interest registers for judges, and sunset clauses for and the right to public review of suppression and non-publication orders.
