2026 Annual General Meeting

The Committee of the NSW Society of Labor Lawyers has called the 2026 Annual General Meeting, to be held immediately after the Society's CPD, 'Insights into Lattouf v ABC'. Current members are encouraged to attend. 

When: Thursday 16 April 2026, 7:00pm 
Where: Boardroom, Level 22 Chambers, 22/52 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000

Agenda Items

- Confirmation of minutes of last AGM
- Receipt of reports and financial statements
- Election of committee members and office bearers
- Nomination and election of returning officer

Election of Committee Members

The Society currently consists of 12 committee members; 4 office bearers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary) and 8 ordinary committee members, 4 of whom must be women. The current committee members hold office until the next AGM.

Voting

Financial members of more than 3 months standing, present at the AGM, are entitled to vote. If you are unsure of your membership status or membership number please email the Society.

A member entitled to vote at a general meeting may give, in writing in the form available here, their proxy to any other member entitled to vote at the general meeting. 

Special Resolutions:

No special resolutions will be dealt with at the Annual General Meeting.

Nominations

Any member of the Society of more than 3 months standing, can nominate for the Committee. Nomination forms are available here.
 
Nominations of candidates for election as office-bearers or as ordinary committee members: 
  • Must be made in writing, signed by 2 financial members of the Society and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate.
  • Must be received by 7.00pm, Thursday 9 April 2026 via email to the Returning Officer.

Due to space constraints, the AGM is open to current members of the Society only. Registration is essential.
