Susan Ryan AO and Yasmin Catley MP in conversation: The Hawke Government's law reform legacy

Following Bob Hawke's passing, NSW Labor Lawyers brings you one of the key architects behind the Hawke Government's law reform agenda. Susan Ryan AO, a former Minister for Education and Youth Affairs, Minister for the Status of Women and Special Minister of State in the Hawke Government, will be in conversation on the law reform achievements of the Hawke Government.
Ms Ryan will be in conversation with the Deputy Leader of the NSW Labor Party, Yasmin Catley MP.
From major environmental reforms such as the Commonwealth takeover of World Heritage sites and the saving of Tasmania's Franklin River, to the outlawing of gender discrimination in the workplace through the passing of the Sex Discrimination Act and the Affirmative Action (Equal Employment Opportunity for Women) Act, and the severing of constitutional ties to Britain through the Australia Acts - the Hawke Government was an administration with immense legal accomplishment.
Join us for a night reminiscing on these law reform achievements, and many others, with Ms Ryan who was a central player in the Hawke Government's agenda.
